This article is based on a paper presented at the European Intellectual Property Institutes Network Congress on 'The Legal Response to New Information Flows' held at Cumberland Lodge, Windsor Great Park, England in February 2006. It discusses domain name disputes with particular reference to the assumption of jurisdiction over disputes and the enforcement of remedies. This part of the article discusses the resolution of domain name disputes under the ICANN Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy and under WIPO's procedures.
