This article provides a bird's eye view of the different positions taken in several jurisdictions with regard to automatically renewable contracts. It also takes into account the different approaches to the provider's possibility of changing the terms of the contract and shows that, in some cases, the approaches may not yield the results expected in practice. This research also evaluates which EU Member States provide the highest level of consumer protection.
